Adventure 3: Baseball is Big Business



"Baseball is Big Business" uses the context of the business of professional baseball to introduce basic economic concepts. Students will participate in the decision-making process of baseball management and explore the possible effects of those decisions on the quality of a team. By building a working budget of an imaginary team, students will focus on the investment of scarce resources in the selection, allocation and development of inputs aimed at increasing the team's productivity. Students will then design a marketing plan to help insure that their team budgets will be met.
